1) Colored Water
Instead of using plain water, add a few drops of food coloring in the water. Make sure to choose a color that complements the color of your holder and container. Some people like only a hint of color. Depending on the effect you want to achieve, you can add few drops to create a translucent appearance. Or you can choose to make it more opaque by adding more food coloring.
2) Sand and stones
If you have a shallow and transparent container, sand and stone are perfect accessories. This is best when you have a large surface area to cover. Disguise an ordinary tray by covering the bottom with sand. Then scatter the rocks around. Gently fill the tray with water to avoid overflowing. Once the sand has settled in the bottom, place some cheap floating candles on top.
3) Use flowers
Aside from water, you can also include flowers in your container. Small flowers are ideal to create a romantic ambiance. However, you can also use large flowers. Pluck the petals and scatter it around the container. You can stick to single color or you can mix and match different colored petals.
4) Add a scent
If you’re using unscented cheap floating candles, you can easily enhance the mood by using scented oils. Achieve an aromatic experience by choosing a scent that is perfect for the occasion. There are varieties of oil you can choose from. The different scents are said to induce different response. For example, a lavender scent is said to increase relaxation. Choose from the following scents are believed to help you with love and relationship: apple, vanilla, rain, rose, orange, peppermint, jasmine, gardenia, clove and cinnamon. Just a reminder, do not use alcohol based liquids such as perfume and alcohol. These are fire hazards. You want a relaxing and romantic dinner. Don’t ruin your date with a fire accident. 5) Small and Separate Containers
Instead of using one container, you can try using several small containers for your cheap floating candles. You can even use different colored water for each container. Scatter the containers around the table. It doesn’t have to be similar with one another. You can have a different design for each container. Just make sure that each design complements one another. Also, make sure that you follow a pleasant color combination.
6) Create a theme
You can have a theme for your cheap floating candles. Having a theme makes them fit in better with its surroundings. Accessorize your cheap floating candles to match the theme you want to implicate. If for example, you’re having a Christmas dinner, use accessories such as ribbons, candy canes, elves and other festive decorations.
